Euston grand prix triathlon - N.S.W. March 2, 2014

A win on the Murray and the State Triathlon Series Championship Title!

Today's triathlon was the SA State Triathlon Series Championship decider and located in the city of Euston in the state of New South Wales approx 500 kms from Adelaide with competitors from Sth Aust, NSW and Victoria competing in their respective age categories.

The river murray was the venue for the swim leg (A river that runs through NSW, VIC and South Australia) and temperatures today were perfect, and after completing the swim, it was time to head to the transition area for the first of two bike legs!

After a solid first bike leg, it was time to head out for the first of two run legs on a fast and flat course and with a healthy lead in my category, I could enjoy a comfortable run to the finish!

The Euston grand prix triathlon is an official Triathlon South Australia state series event and I was most pleased in securing four state championships during this season!

A most professionally conducted event with a friendly atmosphere and I highly recommend anyone to add this triathlon to your event calendar!

Special thanks to Flinders One Fitness - Flinders University, for their sports scholarship of my 2013/14 multi-sport season.

South Australian Duathlon Championships - Oct 20, 2013

State Champion today!

Extreme heat and testing winds made today's State Duathlon Championships, tough for all age group competitors seeking to qualify for The World Duathlon Championships in Spain in 2014!

A large field of quality competitors assembled for the start

My race plan was to maintain a place in the first third of the lead runners and then push hard on the bike leg and build up a lead before the final run leg.

Heading into the bike transition area after a challenging 10km run

The 40km bike leg included two mammoth climbs up the infamous Menglers Hill, and it was at this time that I made my move and attacked, and began to extend my lead which would eventually be over 7 minutes over my immediate competition!

Heading toward the end of the bike leg with just a 5km run to go!

With a healthy lead in my pocket, I was able to set a comfortable pace for the final run leg and another age group state championship and Australian Team selection!
