World Duathlon Championships - Adelaide, 2015

9th place today amongst a most competitive field of Athletes!

Registration day - October 15 and all set for the opening ceremony!

The City of Adelaide was on exhibition today as 1300 of the world's fittest athletes from 39 countries raced on a circuit taking in some of city's most picturesque inner city areas.

Fantastic weather for the World Championships, a most unique and exhilarating experience!

We're all assembled and ready to race and from the starter's gun the pace was fast and furious and I was most pleased in recording the fastest bike leg of the race before the final run to the event finish!

I recorded the Fastest bike leg during my race at the World Chanpionships...Cool!

World Duathlon Championships - France, Sept 23 - 2012

A day to remember!

Representing your country and competing on the world stage at the highest level against the best athletes in the world is indeed a great honour. The City of Nancy in Northern France, hosted this year's World Duathlon Championships and everyone in the Australian Team was fired up for a great event!

A fun image just prior to our marching into the opening ceremony

The atmosphere was incredible in the days leading up to the championships and all the gruelling morning and evening training sessions as well as the busy race calendar were now memories and my immediate focus was the task at hand!

Pictured here with a couple of Canadian team members at the opening ceremony!

With race day finally here and a hot day forcasted, massive crowds of spectators were assembled all over the course route and it didn't matter what country you were representing, the crowds cheered you on and what a rush it was!

Racing in the green and gold, it doesn't get any better than that!

With the event over, it was time to celebrate a great achievement and a successful European tour of events!

The Budapest half marathon - Hungary, Sept 9 - 2012

A tough race on a very hot day!

The spectacular City of Budapest in Hungary attracted over 12,000 runners in this years 21.1km half marathon run and this event would be my final lead up race before The World Duathlon Championships in Nancy - France on September 23.

With large crowds cheering you on at the start, it was a fantastic atmosphere on a day where the temperature hit 37 degrees!

The race route took in all the major landmarks in both cities of Buda and Pest which had all runners making a spectacular bridge crossing over and back from each city!

Time for a photo with my medal after the race, and how's that for a shoe size!
